Getting Started
Welcome! This guide will help you get up and running with Ratehopper in just a few minutes.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:
✅ A Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect, etc.)
✅ Some crypto assets on supported networks (Base, Ethereum)
✅ A small amount of ETH for gas fees
Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
Visit Ratehopper
Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right corner
Select your wallet provider from the list
Approve the connection request in your wallet
✅ Wallet Connected! Your wallet address will appear in the top right.
Step 2: Sign In to Authenticate
After connecting your wallet, you'll need to sign a message to authenticate:
Click the "Sign In" button on the dashboard
A signature request will appear in your wallet
Click "Sign" to approve the message

The signature proves you own the wallet address
No blockchain transaction or gas fees required
Your private keys never leave your wallet
Access Your Data:
View your existing Safe wallet and automation settings
Access your saved preferences and notification settings
See your personalized automation history
Enable Features:
Check if you have a Safe wallet deployed
Access automation and agent management
Enable secure communication with our backend
💡 One-Time Setup: You only need to sign in once per session. The signature doesn't cost any gas!

Step 3: Explore Your Dashboard
Once connected, you'll see your Dashboard with:

💼 Deploy an Agent
All your lending positions across protocols
All your borrowing positions
Current rates and values
Deploying an Agent to help with your desired strategy (Looping, Rate Arbitrage, LP or Advanced)
Step 6: Deploy Your Safe Wallet & Set Up Automation
To enable automated rate optimization, you'll need to deploy a Safe wallet:
Why Deploy a Safe Wallet?
Security:
Multi-signature security for your positions
Industry-standard smart contract wallet
Complete control over your assets
Automation:
Required for AI agents to optimize your rates
Enables 24/7 monitoring and execution
Set it and forget it - your agent does the work
Position Management:
Easily manage and unwind positions via the Safe interface
Full transparency with all transactions visible on-chain
Deployment Steps:
Go to the Dashboard tab
Click "Get Started" or "Deploy Safe Wallet"
Review the deployment details
Approve the transaction in your wallet (requires gas fee)
Wait for confirmation (usually 15-30 seconds)
✅ Safe Wallet Deployed! Now you can set up automation.
Set Up Your AI Agent:
After deploying your Safe wallet, you'll get to select an Agent.
Click "Set Automation" on any position you want to optimize
Configure your preferences:
Target protocols: Which platforms to use for swaps
Minimum rate difference: How much better before switching
Notification settings: Get alerts for important events
Click "Activate Automation"
Your AI agent is now working 24/7 to optimize your rates!
